Our client is a top buy-side firm. The COO is seeking an experienced
Head of Operation
to lead the team. This person will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, risk control, and regulatory compliance across multiple fund structures. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of
fund administration, trade settlements, NAV calculations, reconciliations, and investor reporting. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the full fund lifecycle, including fund launches, trade execution, settlements, reconciliations, and corporate actions. Ensure timely and accurate NAV calculations, portfolio valuation, and reporting in coordination with fund administrators. Manage cash and position reconciliations, working closely with custodians, prime brokers, and external vendors. Ensure all fund operations adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies. Work with legal, risk, and compliance teams to support audits, regulatory filings, and reporting obligations. Maintain robust operational risk controls to mitigate errors, fraud, and regulatory breaches. Lead and develop a team of fund operations professionals, ensuring high standards of performance and continuous development. Identify opportunities to streamline operational workflows and improve efficiency through automation. Requirements: 10+ years of experience in fund operations, middle office, or fund administration within asset management. Proven leadership experience, managing and mentoring operational teams. Strong knowledge of fund structures, including mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity, and alternative investments. Familiarity with fund accounting principles, NAV calculations, and financial reporting standards. Experience working with fund administrators, custodians, prime brokers, and service providers. Proficiency in fund operations technology, such as Geneva, Advent, Bloomberg AIM, Aladdin, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk controls.
