We are seeking a skilled and experienced Actuarial Manager to lead our Product Pricing team. In this role, you will independently manage pricing projects, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with internal policies while driving the development of innovative insurance products.
What the role is?
Lead pricing projects independently, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results. Guide and coach junior staff on product and pricing-related work, reviewing pricing results and papers while providing valuable insights. Design and price new products using appropriate assumptions, methods, and guidelines. Negotiate with reinsurers regarding new product reinsurance arrangements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product-related projects to ensure alignment and effectiveness. Review User Requirement (UR) and solution documents for the system implementation of new products and day 2 projects. Undertake ad hoc projects as assigned by the supervisor. Identify key product risks and propose recommendations for risk mitigation. Ensure full compliance with company internal policies during the pricing process within the team. Foster the development of team members to optimize overall team performance. What we look for?
Degree holder with fellowship from recognized Actuarial Societies or Institutes. Minimum of 6 years of actuarial working experience, including at least 1 year in a managerial role. Experience in independently leading pricing projects is a distinct advantage. Familiarity with RBC or IFRS 17 is a plus. Strong actuarial, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, presentation, coaching, and management abilities. Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of Prophet is an advantage. Good command of English and Chinese; proficiency in Cantonese is preferred. Candidates with less experience or qualifications may be considered for the Assistant Manager position.
