Software Engineer (Medical Device) (Ref: MRC2025-009)TR at CUHK Company Limited (For Talent Pool only)Hong Kong SAROn-site Full Time 3 year or above Entry level Skills: C++, Python Multi-Scale Medical Robotics Center Multi-Scale Medical Robotics Center Limited (MRC) was established by the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Engineering of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in collaboration with ETH Zürich, Imperial College London, Johns Hopkins University, Technical University of Munich and the University of Hong Kong. The Medical Robotics Center (MRC) provides a collaborative platform for clinicians, engineers, and researchers from local and overseas universities. By focusing on innovative surgical robotics technology with a strong emphasis on clinical application and direct patient benefits, the MRC enables these multidisciplinary teams to work together and translate biomedical engineering research into new medical practices. Job Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain software for our surgical used robotic platform, including embedded systems, software applications, and communication protocols. Design and implement software for testing sensors, actuators, and the integrated robotic system. Participate in prototyping and system bring-up activities, encompassing both software and hardware components. Collaborate within the R&D team to integrate and test various components of the surgical robotic platform. Maintain and manage the software codebase, ensuring code quality and version control. Job Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 3+ years of relevant work experience. Proficiency in programming languages, including C/C++ and Python. Demonstrated experience in shipping commercial products. Highly self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals across various functions and levels. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proven track record of successful project execution. Preferred: Familiarity with kinematics and dynamics of multi-link rigid body systems, including implementation (e.g., URDF and Pinocchio) and parameter identification. Preferred: Knowledge of Linux kernel, system, and software optimization techniques. Preferred: Experience with medical imaging and surgical guidance systems. Fluency in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin is required. Salary Benefits Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We offer an attractive remuneration package including medical and dental insurance to the successful candidate. Appointment will be made on a 1 or 2-year contract (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
