Head of Strategy is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the strategic direction of BBVA in Asia in alignment with the bank's global strategy. It plays a pivotal role in defining long-term goals, making data-driven decisions, and guiding the company toward sustainable growth and success as well as directly supporting the Asia CEO. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Implementation: Lead the definition & execution of the strategy and business plans in coordination with internal stakeholders across BBVA global network. Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify opportunities, trends, potential partnerships, SWOT and competitive threats relevant to BBVA Asia business. Governance: Support Asia CEO communications & committees (presentations,...) with BBVA top Management as well as regional ones. Sustainability Lead for Asia: Guide sustainable finance Asia team identifying and developing business opportunities in the region. Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and assess progress against strategic objectives and actions needed in collaboration with the Finance team. Marketing: Plan & coordinate marketing initiatives in coordination with internal and external stakeholders, such as BBVA footprint countries Embassies & Government offices in Asia. Qualification & Experience Senior project management experience in the finance space, either in-house or external (Consulting), who is able to drive definition and execution of complex projects involving multiple stakeholders. Management / Financial Controller experience at Banks, preferably in the CIB space. Public speaking and network building experience. Knowledge & Skills Solid understanding, preferably from the lenses of a foreign bank in Asia, of: Corporate and Investment Banking space (products, markets, regulations,..) Sustainability and Sustainable Finance. X-border business linking Asia with the rest of the world, particularly BBVA footprint countries. Proficient in Google/Microsoft Office (incl. excel and powerpoint). Language proficiency: English (must), Spanish (recommended), Mandarin/Japanese/Korean (valued). Other Skills Able to work in a matrix reporting structure, multi-functional and cross-cultural environment (lead, convince, not impose). Hard worker, energetic and empathetic.
