Assess and support compliance with national and local environmental regulations, particularly waste regulations in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region, contractual obligations, and internal Amazon policies. Support the growth of the business through environmental due diligence reviews and permitting support in Hong Kong. Play a key role in regional environmental programs by integrating with engineering, construction, and operations - drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization. Support the maintenance of and compliance with implemented Environmental Management Systems (EMS). Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards. Develop, analyze, and forecast environmental metrics, horizon scan for risk and effectively communicate insights to internal stakeholders. Support environmental audits to drive continuous improvement. Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately. Submit time critical environmental reports to various governmental agencies. Complete thorough environmental investigations and associated regulatory reports including working with operations and necessary stakeholders to develop and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions. Project coordinate environmental team projects across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region. About the team

Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering/science, geology, geography, biology, chemistry or related field of study with 7+ years of experience serving as an environmental technical resource, environmental consultant, environmental manager, program specialist, or program manager. Experience in environmental compliance, environmental auditing, environmental permitting/reporting, waste management, practical knowledge environmental management systems and broad knowledge of national, regional and local environmental regulations in Asia Pacific regions. Fluent English language skills as well as project management skills with proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite of applications. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, including comfort interfacing with senior leaders inside and outside the company. Demonstrated project management skills to manage multiple priorities, delivering clear progress updates, and escalating issues appropriately in a fast-paced, growing organization. Experience leading change in multiple site environments and the ability to influence those that are not direct reports or within your organization. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience in implementing environmental systems and practical improvements. Experience in contractual, regulatory, and liability assessments, permit evaluations and applications, planning approvals, water discharge requirements, and waste management in multiple Asia Pacific regions including Hong Kong, Taiwan, New Zealand, Philippines etc. Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
