Job Summary: The Compliance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust compliance program that aligns with the evolving regulatory landscape of Web3 technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized systems, as well as a strong grasp of global regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of navigating the complexities of compliance in a rapidly changing environment. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor and interpret regulatory developments related to blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and Web3 technologies. Ensure the company’s operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities. Collaborate with internal teams to address and mitigate identified risks. Stay abreast of emerging risks and trends in the Web3 space.
Training and Education:
Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees and stakeholders. Provide guidance and support to internal teams on compliance-related matters. Foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior across the organization.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities. Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure adherence to compliance policies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other external stakeholders. Represent the company in compliance-related discussions and forums. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues and incidents. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Report significant compliance incidents to senior management and relevant authorities.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CRCM) is a plus. Minimum of 2 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field, preferably within the blockchain, cryptocurrency, or fintech industry. In-depth knowledge of global regulatory frameworks governing blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and Web3 technologies. Strong understanding of anti-money laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC), and data privacy regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams. High level of integrity and professionalism. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols and smart contracts. Familiarity with compliance software and tools. Proven track record of managing compliance in a startup or high-growth environment.
