Key Responsibilities
Define specifications and requirements for products and services by communicating with internal stakeholders and aligning with the department's strategic plan.
Lead sourcing opportunities in Japan, including RFPs and direct negotiations, and utilize market research from various sources to inform sourcing decisions.
Ensure compliance with policies and thresholds established by the Chief Procurement Officer.
Negotiate and implement contractual agreements in collaboration with internal clients and the Legal department.
Manage the vendor base to ensure compliance with contracts and financial efficiency.
Regularly review strategic plans with the Sourcing Team to enhance overall company service.
Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with internal clients and their associated vendors.
Support team members to ensure the delivery of first-class customer service.
Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years of experience in a strategic sourcing role, with exposure to categories such as Facilities Management, Capex projects, Marketing, Human Resource Services, and Professional Services.
Experience in commercial and contractual negotiations, competitive market analysis, and ongoing supplier performance management in a commercial setting.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Japanese to support strategic sourcing in the Japanese market.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications, CIPS, or a combination of education and work experience.
Strong knowledge of contract law and negotiation skills, with an understanding of applicable legislation.
Ability to effectively engage with all levels of executive management in a cross-functional environment.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization.
Experience with SAP, e-Builder, or other ERP systems.
Experience across multiple sourcing categories.
Strong Japanese & English language skills (both spoken and written).
