System Development Manager (AVP) - Java - Financial Services Inhouse - 1-year Renewable Direct Contract - Low latency/High frequency - 70-80K + Bonus
We are seeking a skilled System Development Manager (AVP) to lead IT project implementation and application development for our Post-Trade/Risk Management Systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in building low latency and high frequency trading platforms. Key Responsibilities Hands-on Development in Java:
Oversee system development and the implementation of IT projects, ensuring comprehensive business requirement analysis and effective resource management. Capable in Greenfield development:
Design and develop innovative systems using modern technologies, including cloud solutions, to enhance operational efficiency. Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work closely with various IT teams to facilitate project success and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Support:
Provide ongoing support for production systems, ensuring high availability and performance. Team Leadership:
Mentor and lead a team of software developers based in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Additional Projects:
Undertake special assignments and projects as directed by management, contributing to the broader objectives of the organization. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Ideally coming from a financial services background. Domain knowledge in Post-Trade OR Risk Management System with strong technical skills in building low latency and high frequency trading platforms. At least 10 years of experience in software development, focusing on large-scale and mission-critical systems. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role, managing software development teams. Strong technical expertise in Linux, databases, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud technologies. Excellent analytical skills, self-motivated, and capable of working independently. Knowledgeable in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and documentation best practices. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a track record of troubleshooting complex technical challenges. Proficient in Chinese and English.
