Senior Healthcare Reporter – Asia Region APM International is seeking two full-time journalists to join its team and strengthen its editorial scope by covering critical developments in the healthcare sector in Asia. The successful candidates will focus on providing differentiating content into healthcare policies, regulatory trends, reimbursement frameworks, and access issues, with a particular emphasis on developments driven by regulators and payers. Coverage will primarily target China, Japan, India, South Korea & Australia. These roles will further enhance APM’s reputation for editorial independence and unbiased investigative journalism. Key Responsibilities: Produce high-quality, accurate, and focused news articles tailored to a professional readership. Cover evolving news from medical conferences and specialized events, including on-site reporting as well as virtual coverage. Report on major developments in health policies, regulatory initiatives, and payer-driven trends. Interview key health stakeholders, including regulators, healthcare policymakers, and senior executives. Provide in-depth analysis enhanced by third-party commentary and relevant context. Maintain and expand a network of reliable contacts across the healthcare sector. Potentially mentor and oversee another Senior Reporter, contributing to their professional development. Desired Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field. While a background in journalism is preferred, candidates with significant professional or academic experience in the healthcare sector are encouraged to apply. At least three to five years of experience reporting on healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotech-related topics. More experienced candidates are welcome. Proven expertise in news reporting, interviewing, and event coverage. Strong command of written English, with the ability to produce engaging, professional content under tight deadlines. Familiarity with health policies, regulators’ processes, pricing and reimbursement issues, and drug competition dynamics. Experience in management or mentoring within a professional context is a plus. Competence with data visualization tools is a plus. Excellent IT skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small, dynamic team. Willingness to travel across the region for events and conferences, with a minimum number of annual conference attendances to ensure the desired content rhythm.
