The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) is a statutory body incorporated under HKCSS Incorporation Ordinance (Cap. 1057). It is a federation of NGOs representing the social service sector. Together with its 500 plus Agency Members, it upholds social justice and equality based on its mission to advance the well-being of the Hong Kong community. It is committed to building an impact-oriented, collaborative and innovative social service sector, and co-creating a better society with stakeholders across different sectors. Chief Executive . Reporting to the Executive Committee, the Chief Executive is required to oversee the operations of the HKCSS, provide leadership in strategic planning and service development, and establish strong links with the government, public and private sectors, academic and other professional bodies. Responsibilities:
Spearhead the policy decisions of the Executive Committee, oversee the implementation of HKCSS’s strategic directions, and motivate and direct a well-experienced team. Be alert to social changes, new needs arising, gaps in services, and the need for continuous quality improvement. Build an effective relationship with community leaders, government officials, other stakeholders, and relevant international and Mainland China bodies. Maintain and enhance the quality and efficiency of the HKCSS’s services. Supervise the staff of HKCSS, including those of its subsidiaries, and the services that HKCSS provides. Requirements:
Passionate and committed to the development of a dynamic and effective social service sector. Has strategic vision and possesses qualities of leadership and innovation, as well as having a good understanding of the social needs of the Hong Kong community. Has excellent communication and networking skills. Possesses the skills to manage the operation of HKCSS in an efficient, effective and professional manner. A registered social worker with Bachelor/Master degree or above, with proven track record of minimum 10 years NGO senior management experience. Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).
