We are professional insurance brokers who represent clients, not insurance companies. We act as an intermediary between clients and insurance companies, helping the former find the solution that best suits their needs in terms of risk management practices and financial controls, balancing premiums against a recommended level of cover.
We are looking for a Manager to join our Compliance team. This individual will lead the Risk and Compliance function, playing a crucial role in ensuring adherence to all local laws, statutes, and regulations while balancing the needs of the business. The Manager will be knowledgeable about local regulatory requirements for insurance broking and financial institutions, ensuring that company policies and procedures remain current and effective. Additionally, this role includes providing thorough training to all employees to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and oversee the Risk and Compliance functions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Develop and implement comprehensive policies and procedures for the compliance program, ensuring they meet local legal and regulatory standards.
Review the Regulatory, AML, and Data Protection requirements, ensuring compliance with local insurance broking and financial regulations (e.g., IA and MPFA).
Facilitate the process of regulatory inspections and external/internal audits.
Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board, outlining compliance status, risks and recommendations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulator, managing communications and ensuring timely responses to regulatory inquiries.
Work closely with business units and the executive management team to provide strategic leadership and high-level compliance advisory.
Oversee and enhance the effectiveness of screening processes, such as ComplyAdvantage.
Promote a culture of compliance by disseminating updated information and conducting strategic training sessions for staff.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE:
Degree holder in Business, Law, or other related disciplines.
A minimum of 8 years’ working experience in legal/compliance/risk management related area.
Experience in insurance or the financial industry will be an advantage.
Sound knowledge on KYC/AML/CTF framework, insurance ordinance and compliance practices.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese.
High integrity, meticulous, organised, and able to multi-task.
Effective team player, capable of communicating well with various stakeholders.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
