BBVA has presence in different Asian countries; branches in Hong Kong, China (Shanghai), Singapore, Taiwan and Japan, and representative offices in China (Beijing), South Korea, Indonesia and India (Bombay). These branches and offices offer services provided by all three CIB business units; Global Transaction Banking (GTB), Investment Banking and Finance (IB&F) and Global Markets (GM). Given the expected growth of CIB business in Asia, it is considered necessary for the Regulation Desk to establish a local presence in the region. With local staff, the Regulation Desk will be able to begin covering financial regulation of BBVA’s countries in Asia. It will help CIB on having a better understanding of local regulation, in order to increase security in compliance with the different requirements and support the business units in assessing the impact of regulatory changes in these countries. The Regulation Desk person in Hong Kong should have to monitor the evolution of the financial regulation in Asian BBVA countries: Analise the impact the regulatory changes in the regional CIB business and the potential extraterritorial impact on the whole group. Communicate them to the impacted areas. Support business areas in the adaptation process. Assist the business and support areas on the interpretation of the current regulation. Coordinate with the rest of the Regulation Desk, assist specialists in acquiring the Asian knowledge on the type of regulation they monitor. Maintain a close connection with Asian industry associations and, when necessary, with local regulators. The type of regulation that must be monitored is very varied. It includes: Anti-money laundering and terrorist financing On capital markets; transactions rules on securities and derivatives, market integrity, post-trade requirements (e.g. reporting and transparency) Conduct rules; product governance, client protection Sustainable finance: reporting, governance and risk management, ESG characteristics on BBVA products, transitions plans. Digital: Resilience and innovation. Requirements on the branch; governance, fit & proper rules, remuneration rules, liquidity requirements Requirements: Be fluent in English and Mandarin, and have good writing and oral communication skills in both languages. Have a minimum experience of ten years working in the financial sector in Asia and have developed a broad knowledge of the financial system in the region. Have ability to work independently and autonomously, be proactive and have entrepreneurship to push initiative that require collaboration with other areas of CIB from different locations.
