Assistant Application Development Manager - Reputable Education Sector (up to 70 K)Our client is a global top-tier higher education organization, with innovative and latest technology research and development within the industry. The successful candidate will join their Administrative Application Services Section and will be responsible for the development, implementation, and support of the organization’s latest web/digital applications. Key Responsibility: Leading a project team in the design, development, testing, maintenance, and support of administrative applications across various units. Overseeing and managing technological requirements to meet business needs and assessing the feasibility of technical solutions. Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with network, infrastructure, and service teams on technical challenges. Assisting the supervisor in planning, evaluating, and implementing system development tools and methodologies, with a focus on integrating new technologies to enhance legacy systems. Performing other duties as assigned by the Director or designated delegates. Qualifications: A recognized degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.7 years of solid experience in systems analysis, design, and application development. Extensive experience in implementing applications using Oracle RDBMS 19c, Java (Java EE, EJB, Spring, JSF, JPA), Web Sphere Application Server, and UNIX platforms. Experience in configuring and optimizing hybrid server environments (On-premise and Microsoft Azure Cloud) to support peak operations. Knowledge of AI development, assistant tools, and large language models (e.g., Azure Open AI, GPT-4, Qwen2-VL), along with experience in vectorization in RAG is a significant asset. Experience supporting public-facing, mission-critical applications, focusing on performance tuning and conducting unit and load tests. Familiarity with application integration with Azure Active Directory and enabling Single Sign-On and Multi-Factor Authentication features. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills to engage effectively with users at all levels. Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with a preference for fluency in Putonghua. A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
