The Centre for Immunology & Infection (C2i) uses novel technology platforms for biomarker discovery and the development of new vaccine and therapeutic strategies.
C2i aims to address major unmet global and local public health needs with excellent potential for commercial exploitation.
Applications are now invited for appointment as Technical Assistant / Laboratory Assistant (Ref.: C2i097) , to commence as soon as possible, on a one or two-year contract basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.
Requirements:
Higher Diploma or above in science discipline
2 years’ working experience in a laboratory
Experience in operating laboratory equipment including autoclave would be an advantage
Self-motivated, organized, detail-minded, hardworking
Good communication skills, positive attitude and willing to learn
Good command of Chinese and English
Lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Laboratory Assistant
On-the-job training will be provided
Responsibilities:
Perform sterilization of laboratory materials
Be responsible for routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
Maintain records as necessary
Prepare and handle laboratory apparatus
Assist in daily operation of the facility
Provide technical assistance to support R&D activities
Stocktake and maintain inventory
Work outside office hours and/or weekends occasionally if required
Perform ad-hoc tasks assigned by supervisor/management
